{Five} Things on Friday

Nov 20, 2015 /

…

Good morning, Friday!

I am linked up with April today for Five on Friday!

A Little Orange Box

I opened up our mailbox yesterday to a little orange box filled with our Christmas card pretties! This is my first year using Shutterfly for Christmas cards. In the past I have just designed something and sent them to a generic printer. Holiday cards can get stinkin’ expensive real fast. Especially if they’re charging $2.50 a card…

Well right now, Shutterfly is hosting a 40% off everything sale! And you can combine promo codes and also get free shipping if you spend $39 or more. Sign up for emails too. When I ordered my cards they were running a 40% off sale but my email had a code for 50%. I love getting good deals from Shutterfly.. I’m the girl that never pays full price for anything on there – and neither should you. Plus the quality is great!

Another Little Orange Box

While I was staying at my parents last weekend we had a very lazy Sunday after the littlest sister spent the night at a friends house and stayed up waaaay to late… That was a long sentence. But anyways, I had lots of time and a little motivation.

I ordered our 2014 photo book!

It’s supposed to arrive next week and I am THRILLED! This is no small task – you understand if you make yearly photo books. The most time consuming part is finding all the photos you want. I usually do mine in two parts. I’ll spend one day focusing on finding the perfect photos and then another afternoon getting it organized on the Shutterfly website.

I love having the memories all in one place and I love that I don’t need all the scrapbooking supplies to get it done.

I never order these without coupon codes either. I get my books all done and ready and then I wait for Shutterfly to offer a free book (usually $29.99 value).

2016 Planner

Okay, I’m feeling a little bit on top of the game here. I usually never get a planner until the end of December and I spend a good portion of New Years Day writing in all my known 2016 events. It’s a fun tradition, but this year when Target released their Sugar Paper line I couldn’t resist the prices. Last year I spent some money on a different planner that I ended up wishing was smaller (it was 8.5 by 11) and I bought one at Target for $6.99 and LOVED it.

This is the planner I had last year. It only has full month pages and it’s very slim.

This is the one I chose for 2016. It also has weekly pages and I’m excited to use those as more of a journal and write out memories or thoughts on specific days. I learned last year that I’d rather just have the full month calendar pages for scheduling. Then I can see the whole month on one page and don’t have to flip around like crazy. There is also room on the page for me to write out our bills that we’ll owe and to keep track of my babysitting hours. And it was $15. Can’t beat that.

Alfred

Alf has been getting a lot of attention lately and he is soaking it up. I think I am already getting nostalgic of the time Mike and I have had with just Alfred (pregnancy hormones much?) so he gets lots of love.

Basketball and Sunday Naps

Conference basketball started last night. We weren’t prepared for the stress that it brings. Go Warriors!

And Katie knows how to Sunday.

Jaderston Baby: 18 weeks!

Nov 18, 2015 /

IMG_5870

How far along: 18 weeks! And I learned at my appointment on Monday that my “bump” is not baby. Baby is still tucked nicely in my pelvis… Yay for baby bloat!

How big is baby: About the size of a sweet potato… 5.6 inches long and weighs 6.7 ounces!

Gender: We will be finding out around 22 weeks!

Movement: Baby is definitely moving around but I rarely feel it. I am not convinced anymore that what I feel is actually movement. Dr. said it could still be a few weeks.

Sleep: Still sleeping great! Thanks to my 1/4 sleeping pill and vitamin B6 combination.

Symptoms: Still nauseous occasionally, bloating, hungry more frequently and I have a broader appetite. I didn’t throw up this week! It’s my first week since week 5 to be vomit free. I could scream out of gratefulness.

Cravings/Aversions: Still liking pickles and hating chicken. I am also loving carrots, apples, mangos, pears, and any other fresh fruits that go on sale at the store. I could live on cold fruit and french fries. Not kidding.

Maternity clothes: Still in my clothes. Loving the maternity tanks I got last week though. They’re so comfortable. I will wear them for the rest of forever.

Workouts: Umm no? I thought about it a few times though. Does that count?

Nursery: No progress this week.

Mike: He was so happy to get a good report from the doctor on Monday. We are both so excited to find out the gender in a few weeks too.

Missing anything: Nope!

Looking forward to most: Thanksgiving food!

Worries/Concerns: Nothing! Praise God.

Jaderston Baby: 17 Weeks!

Nov 10, 2015 /

…

IMG_5859

How far along: 17 weeks! and finally (kind of) a bump!

How big is baby: About the size of an onion… 5.1 inches long and weighs 5.9 ounces!

Gender: We will be finding out around 22 weeks!

Movement: I did feel some movement (I think) last week! It’s very subtle and it doesn’t happen very often. I usually only notice it when I’ve been still for a long time. It’s so exciting and I can’t wait to start feeling it more frequently.

Sleep: Still sleeping great! I didn’t take the sleeping pill with vitamin B6 one night last week and regretted it badly the next day. For whatever reason that combination of medicine really does lessen the morning sickness. I’ve gotten frustrated with the sleeping pill because it requires at least 12 hours of sleep before I feel like a human again, we’ve started cutting it into fourths instead of halves and that seems to make a good difference.

Symptoms: Still sick occasionally, bloating, hungry more frequently and a broader appetite. I’ve had a pretty good week though in terms of sickness.

Cravings/Aversions: Craving pickles (this makes me laugh a lot) and hating chicken. I always get it in my chipotle bowl and I had to pick it out last week. Blegh.

Maternity clothes: Still wearing my normal clothes. I did go shopping last week for some maternity tanks because they’ve been highly recommended and came home with lots of good deals from Target.

Workouts: Umm no. But another weekend at camp for the high school retreat felt like a workout. Does that count? Hopefully this week…

Nursery: No progress. I started doing a little research yesterday afternoon though and got very overwhelmed…

Mike: He’s ready to feel the baby move too. He gets so excited when I tell him I think I feel it moving.

Missing anything: Nope!

Looking forward to most: Probably for more consistent movement and for Mike to feel it too. I’m also getting excited to figure out the gender – just a few more weeks!

Worries/Concerns: Last week I shared about my thyroid levels and thankfully my appointment with the endocrinologist was a breeze. I’ve started taking medication and will continue to see the specialist throughout pregnancy but thankfully it’s nothing to be too concerned with.
