All in a Day

Mar 3, 2013 /

Aflie and I are on mixed terms today. First, we had this moment…

It was a sweet moment. Mike and I were watching Batman and Alf was the loviest snuggliest little guy.

Then we let Alf out to go to the bathroom. We attach him to a tether and let him have “freedom” to the front yard. He came back looking like this…

Yep, he dug a hole in the yard…

What a brat! (In honor of my besties having a BRAT dinner in Topeka)
We put him directly into the tub. The water got muddy and gross real quick and right when I turned away to get some shampoo he made his escape. Seriously, what a BRAT!

He was pretty sad when it was all said and done. I was pretty upset because I was covered in nasty muddy water, but I have already forgiven this sweet little guy. He’s too lovable when he’s in trouble.

Good news is that Alf now smells of Mango puppy shampoo and he’s asleep next to me on the couch. Hopefully no more digging for awhile.

Bye for now,

Growing Old

Mar 2, 2013 /

I came to a sad realization this morning.

I got out of bed at 8:15 – only because I couldn’t sleep any later! Who am I?! Sleeping in used to be something I looked forward to and now my sleeping in consists of 35 minutes more than the usual wake-up call. Sad times here.

But the perks of an earlier wake up call? I get to enjoy the morning! I get some special time with our puppy (he is currently curled up next to me – and he has the hiccups) and the peace and quiet of morning is so relaxing. I’m really growing to love it.IMG_4807

Mike and I are heading to Hutch today to get my car worked on and do some shopping. It’s gonna be a good day – I can just feel it.

Have a great day smart friends,

Snow Day #4

Feb 26, 2013 /

Snow Day 4Not a single complaint coming from this house.

Each moment I am more and more grateful for this time of rest. I hadn’t stepped out of the house for almost 48 hours until this morning. I am simply blown away by the beauty of fresh snow. Like I said, no complaints coming from this house.

Today I am excited to clean the house, get some work done, and go to Wichita for the championship game of the KCAC tournament. Hartman Arena – 6:00pm.

See you there?
