The weekend in Wichita with my husband and my entire family was just what I needed. We had a blast celebrating my littlest sister’s birthday and enjoying my moms side of the family’s summer get together. On Friday night we were happily surprised when my parents came home from a night out with my older sister visiting from Germany. They surprised everyone including my grandparents at the family party. After staying up way too late on Friday night (Mike was in KC for a bachelor party) the sisters decided to get up early and go for run before the littlest one turned 9. After our jog, Dad decided to get the Mustang out for a little post-run ride around the neighborhood. Before we left my mom snapped what could potentially by my favorite photo of the year. Thanks Mom!
Then the littlest turned 9 at 9:41am. You could bet big money that we watched the clock very closely as 9:41 approached. She was so excited to celebrate on the minute of her actual birth. It was precious.
On Saturday afternoon we headed over to my Aunt & Uncles house where we celebrated our Berry Family Birthday Party. It happens annually. Instead of celebrating each individual birthday (which would be A LOT since there are 43 of us) we have a mega celebration to celebrate everyone. It’s a neat idea and a great excuse to get everyone together.
There were 43 + 1 on the way of us all gathered at one house. It’s hard to believe the family has grown to that size and it’s such a blessing to be able to get everyone in one place. I’m not sure if this has ever happened before, so we tried to soak up every minute. My aunt Molly brought a waterproof camera to the party and I thought these pictures she emailed were too cute not to share. Katie and her cousin Ava (daughter of my cousins Jon & Mal) had a blast in the pool. It was a great weekend.
We are actually back in Wichita for a few days to see my older sister some more and soak up more family time. We just can’t get enough lately. Happy Tuesday!
Be back soon,
