Time Flies

Seriously, time is flying by. How is it already July? How is it that the last time I blogged feels like yesterday but it was actually weeks ago… Oops.

July means BUSY in our lives. We are gearing up for camps, camps, and camps. Dwayne will be going on his first LONG road trip to Wisconsin in a couple weeks and this momma is only a little bit nervous about what all goes into that.

The last couple weeks have been really great. Dwayne has mastered the gummy smile (heart melt) and he is consistently sleeping in his crib for 7 hours at night. I am so happy to have him in his crib and out of the rock and play – one less thing to worry about in Wisconsin.

I’ve started working on some projects again during naps and free time. It has felt so good to get my hands dirty and I’m hoping to start sharing more than just life updates on this old blog again sometime soon.

Thanks for bearing with us as we transition to a family of 4 (Alfred included). It has been the sweetest (and sometimes hardest) time in our lives.

Father’s day 2016

It was Mike’s first father’s day this weekend!

We didn’t do much to celebrate because life with a newborn sorta limits that, but we did get to play a round of disc golf and I surprised Mike with a handful of small gifts and cards. We also enjoyed dinner with my family.

I of course didn’t take a single photo of Mike with his new son yesterday, but here is a precious one of them in the hospital.

The most fun gift from yesterday was three photo frames filled with these photos of Dwayne.

DAD Year 1

We are so so lucky to have Mike in this family. He blesses me beyond what I ever dreamed and I know it is the same for Dwayne. He works so hard to provide for us and take care of us with no complaining. I can’t imagine doing this “parenting” thing with anyone else.

A Long Weekend

Mike had to go to Minnesota this last weekend for school. Yay for getting his masters, but boo for having to leave Dwayne and I so soon!
We survived the weekend with only a few meltdowns (for both Dwayne and myself) and I sent Mike these photos to keep him in the loop of life with this little man.

He met his great grandma Scheer and his Aunt Jenn while Mike was away. We also went on lots of walks to keep our sanity.

He turned 5 weeks old and had his one month check up. He’s healthy and tall!

All this to say, we are so happy to have Mike home. It’s easier to be a new mom with a new dad by my side.
