Losing Google Reader

Today I am here to talk about my reader.

I started reading blogs more seriously when I was in college and committed to writing my own blog last July. At different times in my life I was reading 10 – 15+ blogs at one time. I would save them all in a bookmark at the top of my browser and click on each individual one to see if it updated. Yes, I was living in the stone age, well the internet stone age.

When I switched over all of my email accounts to google I discovered the many many perks of google. The docs, email, drive, google plus, chrome, and the list goes on and on. Then I found their reader. It was LIFE CHANGING. All I had to do was click on one link and there they were – all the updated blogs.

Then, a few months ago, when I opened up my google reader it said, “We’re sorry but reader will be shut down on July 1, 2013” (paraphrased). No!

I have been searching for anything similar to google reader since and I am here to tell you that I’ve found it and it might even be better.

It will even import your links from your previous reader.

Why I think it’s better?
When you have unread posts you can click on the link and it opens up a page like this.

Screen Shot 2013-04-18 at 6.26.50 PMSee that bar up at the top? The one that says bloglovin’ and the “All unread posts (1/1)”? It’s magical. You just click the tabs, newer/older, and it will automatically take you there.

So, if you’re like me and are dreading the shutdown of Google Reader you should look into BlogLovin’ and if you’re like me and still in the internet stone age you should get a reader. It will save you so much time and make your blog reader experiences even better.

That’s all for now.
Enjoy your new reader!
