Thank Yous and Adjustments
Thank you notes are completed! I honestly did not think this day would come – especially not this soon. But I am so relieved to have all the gifts checked off the list. I have done them in shifts and luckily got a huge chunk completed before we left for Northern Pines. The last big portion was completed over the last few weeks – 35 of them were finished in the last two evenings – PHEW!
Also, note our first utility bill payment. Man growing up sure comes at you all at once, huh?
Anyways, back to thank you notes. Even though every gift was accounted for (hopefully) it is so hard for us to comprehend the amount of love that came our way over the last few months. We had so much support as we made this decision to become one and I am sure we took a lot of it for granted. So THANK YOU to all those people that supported and continue to support us through this exciting transition. Thank you for your prayers and your sweet words of encouragement. Thank you for all the marriage advice and financial advice. Thank you for the example you have set before us and your honesty in the difficulty that lies ahead. Thank you for your patience and forgiveness as we learn how to be married. Thank you sweet friends and family. We feel your love and prayers and cannot express our gratefulness enough. We still have lots to learn, but it is comforting knowing that we have an army of supporters behind us – it’s also comforting waking up next to my sweet and loving husband everyday. The Lord has been so good to us. He has knit our relationship together and he will continue to bless our lives as we look to Him.
Life Update: Work is HARD. The work itself is actually pretty easy… but 8 hours a day is hard. I never thought I would miss being a student but right now – I miss it. The major transitions I’ve gone through over the last few months have also brought on quite a bit of anxiety and insecurities. Each day I am more and more grateful for my husband who is home to greet me with open arms every single day without fail (even when I am a puddle of tears). No one said growing up was easy – I’m just glad I get to do it with my best friend and companion.
We’re adjusting. Mike and I are on different schedules. He is a student so he has lots of meetings at night and more free time during the day to work on school and his internship. Since I work 8 to 5 we don’t see each other as much as we’d like. But we’re adjusting. And we really look forward to weekends.
At the end of the day, life is good. We have so much to be thankful for – and adjustment is just what we need.
See you soon!
