Cole & Laci {Engagement}

On Saturday, in the pouring rain, Mike and I headed to Sedgwick County Park to meet up with our friends Cady and Eric. They are the ones that went to Zona with us for Spring Break. They’re good people, we love them. She’s a food blogger and soon to be high school english teacher here in WICHITA! And he’s pretty cool too, I guess..

But back to what this post is about.. Her little brother was getting engaged at the park on Saturday and Cady and I were joining them for a photoshoot so I could teach her how to use her new camera. Obvi it was a setup that took a turn for the better. The rain let up for just long enough to get the shots Cole wanted, then he proposed while Cady was “practicing using her camera at a distance”.

It was such a fun afternoon.

There was only one reference to it being an engagement shoot before they were actually engaged (oops!) and she seemed very surprised. It was so worth it to get out in the rain and make this happy beginning for this sweet couple.

Our crazy summer begins on Thursday as we load up for our first wedding road trip of the season. I’m excited but also a little overwhelmed. We will be spending a lot of time on the road this summer and I need to embrace it instead of dread it. Ha! I guess 2015 is our year of adventure so why would our summer be any different??
