The S’mornament

Have I told you guys about our love for s’mores? Our wedding cake? The fact that we always have s’more ingredients on hand just in case we get a craving?

If you didn’t know, our wedding cake was made out of S’more Bars… Thanks to my besties for slaving over that one.

And the S’mornament was born.

Our cake topper! Thanks to Momma Scheer for digging through the internet and finding this cute s’more couple on their wedding day. I fell in love with it right away and knew it had to be on top of our cake. I mean seriously, how precious are they?

Every Christmas since my mom has surprised us with a s’more ornament: a s’mornament.

I’m hoping for a s’mornament in 2014 (hint hint Mom) so we can keep this tradition going. If it’s not s’mornaments I will make a point to buy some sort of ornament that has value to both of us and our family. An ornament a year for every year of marriage. We will have a very full tree.

Our Wedding {Getting Ready}

We woke up on the wedding day with (thankfully) almost everything ready for the ceremony and reception. The entire morning was dedicated to getting pampered and eating yummy snacks and drinking mint-cucumber water. Yum.

My bridal party consisted of my 3 sisters so I also had my 2 best friends from high school come over (they were my hair and makeup stylists) and then a handful of friends from college also joined us for the morning. I remember feeling so grateful for my mom on that morning. She had prepared and remembered everything on top of opening up her home to 10+ girls to get ready. We had so much fun.

The boys got ready at the church pretty close to the ceremony. I think they spent the morning playing disc golf but honestly I still am not quite sure.

Our Wedding {The Rehearsal}

Our wedding rehearsal was so much fun. We had dinner and desserts at the clubhouse right by my parents house after the actual wedding rehearsal at the church. We had our best man, maid of honor, parents, and friends share their toasts after the rehearsal dinner instead of at the wedding. I loved doing it this way because the toasts seemed much more personal and there wasn’t a time constraint. I don’t have any photos from the dinner, but know that it was beautiful, wonderful, and Mike and I both felt so loved and supported.
