Warp Speed

This morning as I was waking up, playing candy crush, and watching Dwayne play, I looked up and saw this!

He is growing up at warp speed. Someone asked me last night if he was crawling yet.

Yes! He’s into everything…

Their next question: is he pulling himself up?

No, not yet. Hopefully it’s still a little early for that. (Insert flat line smile emoji here)

We have a brave and very curious boy on our hands.

After this photo he face planted into the shelf so… you win some you lose some.

I knew being a momma would change me. And sure enough, I was right. #proudmom #obsessedwithchild but don’t worry, the candy crush obsessed person in me is still fully intact.

Trunk or Treat

Hello, strangers.

Life has kept me very busy and distracted. So that’s not new. But in my attempts to prioritize, the blog had to take a backseat.

Tonight we participated in our church’s Trunk or Treat event! Rumor has it that over 3500 people came through. Whoa.

Our trunk theme was “God’s Gym” and Mike did ALL the heavy lifting (PUN for the win) in terms of setup and actually hosting the children. You had to do something physical to get your candy: push ups, jumping jacks, lifting a heavy weight, step ups, squats, etc.

Dwayne and I did the easy work of dressing the part and posing for the camera.

It was a fun night. Mike was in his element and did such a good job helping the kids have fun. This is one of our church’s big outreach events and it was so fun to see it succeed to levels of madness. Seriously madness. Where did everyone park? I still am not sure.

Thanks for coming out tonight, Wichita!

Dwayne and I are staying with my little sister tonight and I took these photos just before he went to bed. He is joy. And the best thing Mike and I have ever done.

Finding Balance and Ramblings

The baby is napping.

I’m (dare I say) pumping. Multitasking is my life nowadays.

Mike is working.

The mornings when I get Dwayne down for his nap approximately 1 hour and 32 minutes after he wakes are good mornings. Babies are so predictable, but so unpredictable.

We’re in the middle of “sleep training” and we’ve opted for a huge fridge calendar because it’s the only way to keep track of the others schedule without missing anything.

Life right now is messy and every week I tell myself that it will start to feel more balanced soon. Maybe?

Probs not, but it’s so good anyway.

Also, the weather changed overnight and all the windows and doors are open in our house. Amazing.

Like I said, so good.
