Our First Christmas
We spent our first Christmas, as many newly married couples do, traveling around to visit all of our dear loved ones. Luckily our close loved ones are only an hour apart so we didn’t spend too much time in the car.
Christmas Eve was spent with the Jaderstons and Christmas Day was spent with the Scheers. Both included lots of gift giving, food, and laughs. We are extremely blessed by both of our families and we couldn’t be more grateful.
We also decided this year to not get gifts for each other. Instead we put the money we would have spent on each other and decided on something to get ourselves – something we could enjoy together. So, we got a Wii! It’s a great accessory to the beautiful TV Santa Clause brought us. Like I said before, BLESSED! When I was little we weren’t allowed to have video games in the house. The Scheers were not known as gamers although we wished we could have been… When I got a little older Santa brought me a Gameboy Advanced and then he brought my little sis a Gameboy DS and finally when I was a senior in high school he brought a Wii. I like to claim neglect when it comes to video games but I know now that it was a healthy decision my parents had made…. I LOVE video games! I would like to say it’s mostly Mario because I really do love Mario but I would be lying if I said that was it. I may or may not have beat Medal of Honor in just a few days when we first got the Wii. (I will also put on record that I was not working and I had a lot of extra time to kill during that time). Mike likes to bring this up quite frequently though and I am trying not to be embarrassed – Like I said, I claim neglect. 🙂
Anyways, Mike and I have really enjoyed the Wii. We play games together and it’s always a good time and a good laugh. I would say it was a great Christmas gift and I really loved not stressing about what to get Mike. Win – Win!
That’s really all I have to say about Christmas. We enjoyed our first Christmas as a married couple and we look forward to the many to come.
